Bobcat

Effective on June 1, 2006 all boys must earn the Bobcat Badge before they can begin working on the achievements for
following ranks.
Tiger

A boy who has completed kindergarten or is in first grade would be in the Tiger Den and would work on the Tiger Handbook
to earn the Tiger Badge.
Wolf

A boy who has completed first grade or has earned a Tiger badge would be in the Wolf Den and would work on the Wolf
Handbook to earn the Wolf badge.

Optional: After earning the Wolf badge, he may complete any 10 elective projects in the book to earn a Gold Arrow Point to
wear beneath the Wolf badge. For every 10 additional electives he completes, he would receive a Silver Arrow Point to wear
beneath the Gold. He can earn as many Silver Arrow Points as he wants until he advances to the Bear Rank
Bear

A boy who has completed second grade or has earned the Wolf Badge would be in the Bear Den and would work on the Bear
Handbook to earn the Bear Badge.

Optional: After earning the Bear badge, he may complete any 10 elective projects in the book to earn a Gold Arrow Point to
wear beneath the Bear badge. For every 10 additional electives he completes, he would receive a Silver Arrow Point to wear
beneath the Gold. He can earn as many Silver Arrow Points as he wants until he advances to the Webelos Rank.
Weblos
(Acronym for WE BE LOyal Scout)

A boy who has completed third grade, but has not completed fifth grade, is not yet 11.5 years old or has earned the
Bear Badge would be in the Webelos Den. He must be active in his den at least three months and completes 3 activity badges
(citizen, fitness, and one other) in the Webelos Handbook to earn the Webelos badge.
After earning the Webelos badge, he must have 8 activity badges to earn the Arrow of Light. Four of them must be citizen and
fitness (already earned for the Webelos badge), outdoorsman, and readyman. Of the other four, at least one must be from the
mental skills group and one from the technology group.
Optional: After earning the Webelos badge, he can earn the Compass Point Emblem by completing 4 additional activity badges.
After receiving the Compass Point emblem, he can earn a metal compass point by completing 4 additional activity badges. He
can earn the emblem and all three compass points by completing 19 activity badges, including the three required for the Webelos
badge.
