Academic & Sports Program is one method of helping the cub scouts develop physical, mental and emotional fitness.
Academic & Sports Program is optional and is available to Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos. It is not part of advancement
except where used in obtaining various Webelos activity badges and Wolf Elective #20.
There are 17 academic subjects
and 23 sports. Belt loops are awarded to those who completed 3 belt loop requirements in an academic subject or sports. Pins
are awarded to those who want to continue working in an academic or sport area to complete any 5 requirements beyond the completion
of the belt loop requirements.
Pins are not a part of the Cub Scout uniform (i.e. the pins do not go on the uniform.)
The Academics & Sports letter "C" is available for displaying the pins. The letter "C" can be worn
on a sweater or jacket, or displayed or framed.
